About the Brick House

Welcome to the Brick House

From elegant rehearsal dinners and stylish weddings, to lavish corporate events, let The Brick House provide you and your guests with a memorable setting for your special occasion.

One of northern New Jersey’s leading dining destinations, this historic Bergen County landmark has completed a multi-million dollar expansion and renovation with an elegant new banquet space—the perfect back-drop for your wedding or other grand reception.

The Brick House, located in tranquil Wyckoff, New Jersey, is one of Bergen County’s only examples of a Federal Greek Revival farmhouse. The building dates back to 1851, and has been a premier Bergen County restaurant serving fine food to area patrons for fifty years. The Brick House has been under the expert supervision of chef-owner Aldo Cascio.

Meet our Chef

Chef Aldo Cascio, a native of Sicily, is the owner of two renowned Bergen County restaurants, Aldo’s Italian Restaurant and The Brick House, as well as a wine shop, Pane e Vino, all in the scenic town of Wyckoff, New Jersey. His distinguished restaurants have both earned rave reviews and have provided the setting for many celebrations.

Chef Cascio honed his culinary craft at some of Northern New Jersey’s most well-known Italian restaurants including Macaluso’s, before opening Aldo’s in 1983, and buying The Brick House in 1997.

While Cascio specializes in authentic Italian cuisine with unique flair at Aldo’s Italian Restaurant, the menu at The Brick House focuses on fine steaks, chops and seafood. Updated dining and banquet menus at The Brick House reflect Chef Cascio’s passion for delivering quality fare and a fine-dining experience.

History

Old Brick House

While The Brick House restaurant has undergone a total facelift and dramatic expansion, its design and décor are a perfect marriage of traditional charm and contemporary style. All around you is the evidence of this landmark building, from the solid oak beam that serves as the fireplace mantle and dates back nearly 200 years, to the exposed brick walls that recall a long-ago era.

Built in 1851 as the Terhune House by early settlers in Bergen County, this historic structure has undergone numerous additions and renovations over the decades, all maintaining the integrity of this Federal Greek Revival architectural gem.

A restaurant since 1951, The Brick House has grown in recent years to accommodate the increasing demand for the fine food and elegant atmosphere found there. Owner Aldo Cascio bought the Brick House in 1997 and created a reputation for mouth-watering steaks and a distinctive dining experience. Seeing the need for a more upscale, tasteful banquet facility in Bergen County, he decided to re-create the Brick House again into the area’s pre-eminent catering venue.

The Brick House now offers banquet facilities for up to 150 guests, while also providing distinctive private dining rooms and other unique spaces. Its spacious new layout offers both flexibility and flow that take your guests from a bountiful cocktail hour to sumptuous dinner and beyond, in gorgeous surroundings.  What’s more, our menus are every bit as flexible as our new space, with packages to meet every taste and budget, customized to meet your particular needs and desires.

Community

The Brick House has been an integral part of the Wyckoff and surrounding Bergen and Passaic County communities for many years. Chef-owner Aldo Cascio has been involved in various local causes and has donated his time, services and delicious food very generously to help area residents in need, to support local groups, and feed those who needed a hearty meal and a friendly face.

The Brick House and Aldo’s Italian Restaurant have hosted myriad fundraisers to benefit local citizens who required expensive medical procedures, supported local sports teams, and provided hot meals on site to the rescue workers at the World Trade Center site during those difficult first weeks at Ground Zero.
