Move over, Valentine’s Day – National Spouse’s Day is taking over the nation! While the good old Valentine’s Day continues to be popular, National Spouse’s Day, which falls on January 26 every year, is rapidly gaining popularity. That’s because not only does it specifically cater to married couples, but it’s closer to the holiday season, and it doesn’t feel as formulaic.
At The Brick House, we’re all for it. We believe that every opportunity for celebration should be made use of – with a few impromptu ones thrown in for good measure. Besides, National Spouse Day falls on a Saturday this time round; the occasion’s practically begging for a celebration!
So, if you’re looking for a steakhouse in Bergen County to celebrate the day with your significant other, make sure The Brick House is at the top of your list.
What makes The Brick House the best steakhouse in Bergen County?
One of northern New Jersey’s leading dining destinations, this historic Bergen County landmark has completed a multi-million dollar expansion and renovation with an elegant new banquet space—the perfect back-drop for your wedding or other grand reception.
The Brick House, located in tranquil Wyckoff, New Jersey, is one of Bergen County’s only examples of a Federal Greek Revival farmhouse. The building dates back to 1851 and has been a premier Bergen County restaurant serving fine food to area patrons for fifty years. The Brick House has been under the expert supervision of chef-owner Aldo Cascio.
Chef Aldo Cascio, a native of Sicily, is the owner of two renowned Bergen County restaurants, Aldo’s Italian Restaurant and The Brick House, as well as a wine shop, Pane e Vino, all in the scenic town of Wyckoff, New Jersey. His distinguished restaurants have both earned rave reviews and have provided the setting for many celebrations.
Chef Cascio honed his culinary craft at some of Northern New Jersey’s most well-known Italian restaurants including Macaluso’s, before opening Aldo’s in 1983, and buying The Brick House in 1997.
While Cascio specializes in authentic Italian cuisine with unique flair at Aldo’s Italian Restaurant, the menu at The Brick House focuses on fine steaks, chops and seafood. Updated dining and banquet menus at The Brick House reflect Chef Cascio’s passion for delivering quality fare and a fine-dining experience.
“AMAZING customer service. The wait staff is so pleasant and accommodating!” Yelp review from Bridget P.
“This is a very special place. The service is extraordinary, and the food never disappoints” Yelp review from Roy.

Savory Sunday family menu
Don’t want to leave the rest of the family out of the celebration? Consider making your reservation for our Sunday family dinner instead of a traditional one-on-one date.
The Sunday family menu is available only on Sundays, between 1 PM and 9 PM. It follows a slightly different format, with courses one, two and four being pre-selected, and the third course having a range of options you can choose from. Think of it as part-buffet, part traditional menu.
The first course is pasta for two – Rigatoni Americana or pasta of the day.
The second course is a bowl of house salad for two.
The third course includes a range of options. All items are for two, and are served with potatoes and vegetables. The prices range from $47.95 to $74.95. Some options are rack of lamb, fisherman’s mix grill, whole split spring chicken, porterhouse steak, sliced double sirloin, seafood Riviera, and BBQ chicken breast and baby back ribs.
The fourth course is a house dessert platter for two, plus tea or coffee.

The best cigars, paired with excellent food
If your spouse loves a good cigar, they’ll enjoy the cigar lounge located within our steakhouse in Bergen County. Our cigar bar is a spacious area located in the lower level, accessible from our main bar (on the main level), or from the staircase off the main entrance.
The lounge has a rich ambience, with luxurious leather chairs and, of course, our incredible food. We offer an extensive selection of cigars and well-chosen food and cigar pairings, with one for every palate. There are multiple large-screen TVs placed around the bar for entertainment, so you can watch the news, sports, or even your favorite TV show while you relish a cigar.
Incredible wine – choose from our wine menu
No celebration is truly complete without some good wine. At the Brick House, we have a wine menu with over 130 options and prices that range from a few dollars (per glass) to hundreds of dollars (per bottle). We have something for every palate and budget.
You can download the menu as a PDF file through the link above to have a look at the prices of various wines. Apart from a select few which may not sometimes be available, these are wines we usually have in stock.
We make our menus available online so you can go through them at your leisure – at home, in transit, whenever you have the time. That way you needn’t waste time deciding at the table and can focus on enjoying yourself instead. At The Brick House steakhouse in Bergen County, we offer a luxurious atmosphere and many entertainment options (including TV), so you can make the most of your time out.
Entertainment near the Brick House
We hope you have a memorable celebration at The Brick House steakhouse. Bergen County offers many fun activities which you can enjoy with your spouse before – or in some cases after – your meal. Here are some of them:
JA McFaul Environmental Center
The environmental center is open all week long between 8:30 AM and 6:45 PM. It’s a one-minute drive from our restaurant. If the weather’s pleasant visit the center for a quiet day in nature. It has a wildlife sanctuary, pond, animal shelters, garden trails, picnic sites and nature exhibits. If your kids are coming with you, it’s perfect!
Wyckoff Public Library
If you or your spouse are bookworms, you can spend some time at the Wyckoff Public Library, browsing their collection of books. It is often said that public libraries are an excellent resource that’s under-utilized. Lose yourself in books in the silent company of your partner, and you’ll never notice how time flies by!
Van Voorhees – Quackenbush House
This charming stone house was built in 1740 by William Van Voorhees, and retains much of its old-world charm. Although it was later enlarged and updated, it is nevertheless a historic site. It isn’t a popular tourist attraction, with only a handful of reviews on Google, but it’s a great place to walk around and explore on a pleasant day. It’s a short drive away from our steakhouse in Bergen County.
Boulder Run Mall
What’s a better way to celebrate National Spouse’s Day than to go shopping and then dine out? That’s a trick question, because the answer is “none”. Head over to the shopping mall, which is a two-minute drive away, and spend a few hours shopping and browsing until you’re ready to have dinner.
So there you go – that’s the meals and entertainment sorted. But quite aside from having a good time, don’t forget to thank your partner! After all, Spouse’s Day isn’t just about celebrating and eating out; it’s also about thankfulness – and showing your appreciation. They’ve been through thick and thin with you, for you, so show that you appreciate them for it.
